As I mentioned recently I've been in a real post holiday slump and I have put off so many too many important things. One very important thing that I know both my husband and I are guilty of delaying is changing the oil in our vehicle.
It's easy to say oh a few more miles or days won't hurt and before you know it those few miles turn into three and maybe even four digit numbers and days turn into weeks or months. I know that my husband and I are both aware of how important it is to check and change the oil in your car regularly but there are so many individuals who are not. Routine oil changes can and will help protect your vehicle by preventing costly repairs and can aid in maximizing your gas mileage.
To learn more about the importance of routine oil changes, proglonging the life of your engine, efficiency and much more visit Motor Oil Matters.org. Motor Oil Matters was created by industry leaders including Pennzoil, Quaker State and Shell Rotella. While visiting Motor Oil Matters take the interactive "M.O.M. Knows Best" quiz and test your motor knowledge, the quiz is just for fun and you never know you may learn something new.
Want to win a $35 Jiffy Lube gift card to use towards your next oil change? Then leave me a comment telling me who changes the oil in your vehicle? Are you a do it yourselfer or do you take it to the pros?
This gift card should cover all, if not most, of the cost of a conventional oil change. Gift card is also valid at other Pennzoil participating locations, go here to see if there is a participating location near you.
This giveaway is going to be the shortest in MTC history, just 2 hours! You have til 5:15pm CST today to enter to win.
Disclaimer: I was supplied with a $35 gift card provided by Shell Lubricants and Motor Oil Matters through MyBlogSpark free of charge for the sole purpose of this review. Monetary compensation was not provided in exchange for my honest opinion and written review. Special thanks to My Blog Spark, Shell Lubricants and Motor Oil Matters.

At the end of dinner at a Chinese Restaurant do you look forward to indulging in a fortune cookie while reading the creative saying that was tucked inside? I know that I do and sometimes I can't help but wonder if that tiny little message inside was intended just for me.
If you receive a Fortune Cookie from Fancy Fortune Cookies or Giant Fortune Cookies the message inside may have been written especially for you. A tasty treat from either of these companies is not comparable to your average fortune cookie. Instead you will find a wide array of gourmet flavored fortune cookies dipped in chocolate and covered with nuts or sprinkles.
The cookies were shipped in a box labeled fragile. Inside the shipping box was a thicker baking box filled with red shards of paper nestling the bubble wrapped Giant. The individually wrapped regular sized cookies were also bubble wrapped and tucked inside this box. The Giant was professionally packaged in cellophane and tied shut with a large bow. Sadly the shipping service did not take note of the "fragile" stickers and I discovered my Giant cookie was broken when I unwrapped it.
Even though the Giant arrived broken it tasted divine. This special limited edition fortune cookie is a real treat especially for those who love gingerbread men, like me. Even my son who does not care for regular fortune cookies enjoyed this sweet treat. Gingerbread lovers it looks like you can still order the Limited Edition Gingerbread Giant from Giant Fortune Cookies but you may be looking for something more appropriate for a Valentines Day gift!
Since I have an inquisitive mind and Valentines Day is right around the corner I wanted to know how often Fancy Fortune Cookies or Giant Fortune Cookies receives a request to assist with a marriage proposal. Erin from Fancy Fortune Cookies told me that requests for fortune cookies for proposals peak during Christmas and Valentines. She even mentioned some real romantics that have ordered 100 cookies with specific messages and that men in the Indianapolis area have brought in actual rings to put inside the cookies. Sure sounds like there are some pretty creative and romantic men out there. Ironically, last week I noticed on Facebook that a High School classmate found a personalized proposal in none other than a Giant fortune cookie!

Remember the Unilever giveaway from here? Unfortunately the winner never claimed their prize so I have to do a redraw. I really hate redraws, unless of course they are on another site and I'm the winner on the redraw. :)

I also have winners from two other contests to announce.
Horizon Little Blends
Beth
Purple Trail Membership
This one was a no brainer, two entries from the same person. Congratulations AshlynnsMom.

Author: Lisa M. Cottrell-Bentley Illustrator: Tanja Bauerle Children's Chapter Book, Ages 5-12+ Retail price: $12.99 Published by: Wright on Time Books (an imprint of Do Life Right, Inc.) Available for purchase at the Wright on Time Store or Amazon.com
Wright on Time Arizona by Lisa M. Cottrell-Bentley is book one of a planned series of 50, one for each US State. In each book the Wright family travels by RV to a new State, their travels incorporate homeschool lessons that are played out in intriguing adventures.
Book one of this series is dedicated to the state of Arizona and the Wright children Nadia and Aidan are beyond excited about their opportunity to explore a desert cave. Inside the cave the children learn about echoes, bats, minerals and even "stale egg mites". If you want to find out what exactly a "stale egg mite" is you will have to read Wright on Time: Arizona.
This series of books is well written, researched and thought out. It was obvious to me that the author Lisa had experience with homeschooling, so I was not surprised when I read that both her children are and always have been homeschooled. Her experience shines through into her writing as she has included educational materials at the end of the book to make this series a huge hit amongst homeschoolers. These materials include a glossary as well as an additional facts page about the featured State. The Wright on Time series of books will tie into each other so you will want to start the series from the beginning and read each of the books in order of release. Each new book will bring forth knowledge learned from past adventures, starting with book two where the Wright family travels to Utah.
In addition to the Wright on Time book series an online community has been established which includes a forum, games and even a blog from Nadia. Once you have started to read this series your child(ren) will surely want to stay up to date on the expeditions of the Wright children between books and they can by visiting www.WrightOnTimeBooks.com.
Disclaimer: I was supplied with one copy of Wright on Time Arizona free of charge for the sole purpose of this review. Monetary compesation was not provided in exchange for my honest opinion and written review. Special thanks to Mama Buzz and Wright on Time Books for providing me with the opportunity to participate in this blog tour.
