I know it looks like I resurfaced and disappeared immediately and in a way I did, but for good reason. Two days after I started to get things in order here again I received word that my grandfather was very ill and I needed to come back home. Unfortunately I didn't make it home in time to see him before he passed away, but I know that he is in a much better place now and is no longer fighting a battle that seems impossible to win. Please accept my apologies for my absence but I'm sure you can all understand, family first.

I'm sure by now some of you have wondered how long it would be before you came to the site and received a 404 error, page not found. Well I have to admit in a way I wondered that myself. It's been just a few days over 4 months since my last post and while I said on many occasions this week is going to be the week I get back into the game, it never seemed to happened.  Well today that day has finally come, it may take me awhile to get resettled but I'm ready to jump back in and get my feet wet! So on that note Good Monday Morning my fellow deal seekers, come out and tell me about all those hot deals you've been scoring lately and force me to want to get out there and shop til' I drop!

You have probably noticed a few changes on the menu here at More Than Cents. That is because I am moving forward in my efforts to make this a user friendly blog. In doing so I have decided that currently I can only focus on stores in the Kansas City Metro area. I find it difficult to provide advice and post deals for stores which I have never set foot in. I will be covering several stores (see the Store Directory), ones which I am familiar with the policies and procedures that apply to coupon redemption. Even if you are not in the Kansas City Metro area stick around as there will still be valuable information for you here at MTC. I hope that you find the new changes helpful and look forward to MTC becoming a more active blog.

Target Offers Mobile Coupon Service

Are you aware that Target is now offering a mobile coupon service to their guests? Head over here to signup and receive coupons via text from Target. You can also register to receive text alerts for daily deals and weekly ad reminders from Target. Mobile coupons will arrive on Sundays, up to 5 times per month, and you can select the preferred time of delivery at signup. The text message will include a link to a barcode that can be scanned at checkout for you to receive additional savings on your purchases. "The same barcode can be used for multiple one-time-only coupon deals throughout the month."

I really like that Target is thinking outside of the box and offering a mobile coupon service. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to print or bring my Target coupons with me to the store. Having them available on my phone will not only save me time and ink but future frustration cause I'm bound to forget those coupons again. Note that I'm not sure if these will be the same coupons that are available for print or if these will be different coupons.

Remember that standard messaging rates will apply if you do not have free text messaging service.  After registering you can reply to any of the messages from Target at any time with STOP to discontinue the service ore HELP for more information.
